
As a not for profit event and organization, all of the proceeds from the paid Training Courses and the Trade Show are donated to local Calgary academic institutions such as: the University of Calgary (UofC), and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT); for use as student bursaries.

At UofC the Calgary Pump Symposium Bursary is awarded to six undergraduate Mechanical Engineering students per year, providing each of them with $5,000 towards their studies.

At SAIT their are three Calgary Pump Symposium Bursaries awarded each year. Two to Mechanical Engineering Technology students, providing each of them with $2,000 towards their studies. One to a student of the Industrial Mechanic (Milwright)Program, awarding them with $1,000 towards their studies.​

Since 2013 the CPS has donated $295,000 to Engineering and Engineering Technologies students to help educate future technical experts for the pumping industry.
2025
The Calgary Pump Symposium Organizing Committee has donated $30,000 to the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and another $30,000 to the University of Calgary to extend the existing CPS Bursaries.
2023
After a couple of rocky years managing the COVID-19 pandemic, the Calgary Pump Symposium Organizing Committee has committed to donating $30,000 to the University of Calgary, and another $30,000 to the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.

For the first time the donations are being expanded to include the Industrial Mechanic program at SAIT.
2021
The Calgary Pump Symposium Organizing Committee provided the University of Calgary with $30,000 for Mechanical Engineering Bursaries.
2019
The Calgary Pump Symposium Organizing Committee provided the University of Calgary with $35,000 for Mechanical Engineering Bursaries.
2016
The first donation to the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology was for $40,000 to create a perpetual endowment for Mechanical Engineering Technology Scholarships.

This donation amount was matched by the Alberta Government for a total of $80,000 provided to SAIT.
2014
The first major donation by the Calgary Pump Symposium Organizing Committee. CPS provided the University of Calgary with $30,000 for Mechanical Engineering Bursaries.
